Aya & Sura logo

Stories, play and learning built around characters Muslim kids can grow with.

It started with Muslim characters and the idea that children should be able to see faith, family, humor and everyday life living in the same stories. Since then, Aya & Sura has grown through illustrated characters, physical flashcards, digital ideas, a children's book in development and an app—and there is much more room for the world to grow.

ABOUT TIMELINE — early art + current art + cards + book + app

From Muslim Manga to younger readers

Aya & Sura grew from the broader creative work behind Muslim Manga. The children's line gives us a place to tell simpler, warmer stories for younger families while still benefiting from years of experience creating Muslim characters and visual storytelling.

The connection gives Aya & Sura room to welcome familiar faces from a larger character universe in the future, but children never need to know Muslim Manga continuity to enjoy Aya & Sura.

Not one book. Not one deck. A character world.

We want Aya, Sura and their friends to be able to move naturally between formats: a child might first meet them on a flashcard, then read them in a story, color them in an activity, hear them in the app and eventually hold a character toy. The format can change while the relationship with the characters continues.

Children return to characters they care about.

Educational value matters, but we do not want Aya & Sura to feel like a label placed on homework. The strongest version of the brand gives children genuine stories and play first, then uses that relationship to make learning, conversation and Muslim representation feel natural.
